Slovenian Halt Operations at Krško Nuclear Plant Due to Malfunction

Operations at the Krško Nuclear Plant will be cautiously halted after an increased leak was detected in the primary system within the containment, as announced by the facility.

The plant authorities ensure that the leak poses no threat to the employees, the public, or the environment, being below the limit values. In order to accurately determine the origin of the leakage and to outline the next steps for its remediation, the plant must be shut down.

“The leak does not affect the employees, the population, or the environment and is below the values set as a technical specification limit,” was conveyed from Krško.

The reactor’s power will be gradually reduced, though it remains unknown how long the power decrease will persist until the plant is fully decommissioned.
