Montenegro exported weapons including rifles to the Democratic Republic of the Congo while importing ammunition from Israel over the past three years, according to official data on arms trade. The figures shed light on the scope and destinations of Montenegro’s military exports and imports during that period.
Data show that Montenegro exported various types of firearms and military equipment, with certain shipments ending up in African markets, including Congo.
At the same time, the country imported ammunition and other defense related materials, with Israel listed among suppliers.
The disclosures have prompted renewed attention to oversight mechanisms and transparency in arms trade, as well as questions about end use controls and compliance with international obligations. Authorities maintain that all exports and imports are conducted in line with national legislation and international agreements.
