Minor Earthquake Rattles Central North Macedonia

A magnitude 3.0 earthquake was recorded near Kavadarci, North Macedonia, on 19 July, causing light tremors across parts of the central and southern regions.

According to regional seismological data, the quake struck at a shallow depth, but no injuries or structural damage were reported.

While classified as minor, the tremor was felt in several nearby towns, briefly alarming residents. North Macedonia lies in a seismically active zone, though most quakes remain low in intensity.

Though not destructive, this event is a reminder of the region’s seismic vulnerability. It reinforces the need for continued investment in monitoring systems and construction safety—especially as infrastructure across the Adria region is modernised.
