Josip Glasnović Crowned World Champion in Trap Shooting

Croatia’s shooting star completes his golden collection with world championship triumph in Athens.

Croatia’s Josip Glasnović has won gold at the World Shotgun Championships in Athens, becoming world champion in trap shooting and completing his collection of major titles. Spain’s Andres Garcia took silver, while India’s Zoravar Singh Sandhu claimed bronze.

Glasnović and his brother Anton dominated the qualifiers, with Anton equalling the world record of 125 hits and Josip finishing second with 124.

Alongside teammate Giovanni Cernogoraz, the Croatian trio also secured the team gold with 368 total hits.

“I’m very emotional. I trained and prepared hard for this championship. I’m so happy to finally have all the gold medals,” said Glasnović, who previously won Olympic gold in Rio 2016 and European gold in 2013.
