BASF and Acies Bio Forge Partnership for Sustainable Biotech Solutions

BASF has partnered with Acies Bio, a leading European biotech firm, to advance methanol-based fermentation technology for producing fatty alcohols, crucial for surfactants in the home and personal care sectors

This collaboration combines BASF’s drive for innovative solutions with Acies Bio’s “OneCarbonBio” platform, which efficiently converts CO2-derived renewable methanol into key chemical raw materials, supporting a more sustainable production model.

Leveraging BASF’s expertise in process development and global market access, the partnership aims to scale the fermentation of fatty acids and diversify renewable feedstocks for Care Chemicals’ supply chain.

This initiative not only enhances supply resilience but also reflects a shared commitment to sustainable industry practices and advancing biotech for a greener future.
