Leading the pack was Zadar’s large trading company, Tankerska Plovidba, with mid-sized firm Košćal from Popovača and the nimble Zagreb-based M.T.M. Creator also securing top spots.
Erste&Steiermärkische Bank emerged as the top banking institution, while Croatia Insurance clinched the title for the finest insurance provider.
In a noteworthy twist, this year’s evaluation also incorporated the ESG rating – a national model for assessing companies’ sustainable practices. Tankerska Plovidba’s CEO, Mr. Mario Pavić, underscored the significance of the award while highlighting the challenges of competing against business behemoths from countries like China, Japan, and Germany.
The lifetime achievement award was gracefully awarded to Mr. Marijan Živković, proprietor of the Patričar stores, in recognition of his unparalleled commitment to community welfare, employee well-being, and humanitarian efforts. Hrvatske autoceste (HAC) was specially commended for their monumental achievement in constructing the Pelješac Bridge, a strategic initiative to connect southern Dalmatia.
Mr. Luka Burilović, the President of the Chamber, eloquently emphasised the pivotal role businesses play in Croatia’s progression, while Deputy Prime Minister Oleg Butković celebrated Croatia’s integration into the Schengen Area and the Eurozone as significant milestones.
The Chamber also unveiled a refreshed visual identity, with Mr. Burilović affirming their unwavering focus on embracing change to bolster Croatia’s competitive stance on the global stage.
