Cetis Navigates Global Headwinds

Security printing specialist Cetis sees double-digit earnings drop, but presses ahead with international expansion and high-tech upgrades

In a year marked by global uncertainty and shifting demands, Slovenian security printing group Cetis reported a net profit of €16.3 million in 2024, a decline of 11% from the previous year.

Despite the setback, the company remains on a growth trajectory, having delivered major projects across more than 30 countries spanning Europe, Latin America, Africa, and the Middle East.

Total sales revenue dipped by 9.4% to €113.6 million, yet the company’s core sectors—ID cards, banking and tachograph cards—continued to see sustained demand.

Cetis also played a key role in the European Parliament elections in Slovenia, reinforcing its position in the democratic infrastructure space.

Its parent company, which alone brought in €59.6 million (down 12.6%), recorded a smaller profit drop of 6.7%, with 68% of earnings coming from international markets.

Undeterred by the financial dip, Cetis has broken ground on a new 9,500 m² production and office facility in Celje, coupled with significant investments in cutting-edge hardware and software for electronic travel documents—signalling a bold bet on the digital future.
