Serbia’s regulatory authority for electronic communications and postal services, RATEL, has awarded 5G licenses to Telekom Srbija, Yettel and A1 Serbia. The operators paid the first half of the fee for the allocated radio frequency spectrum, totaling around €150 million, within the scheduled timeframe.
RATEL Director Dragan Pejović presented the licenses to the companies’ general directors, marking a key step in the rollout of Serbia’s 5G network.
The move is expected to accelerate high-speed connectivity and digital transformation across the country.
The licenses enable the operators to start deploying 5G infrastructure, offering faster mobile internet services and new opportunities for business, technology innovation, and consumer applications in Serbia.
