Krka CEO Jože Colarič Honoured for Driving Innovation and Social Responsibility

Long-serving leader credited with boosting Slovenia’s pharmaceutical industry and supporting community initiatives.

Jože Colarič, CEO of Slovenian pharmaceutical giant Krka, received the Golden Order of Merit for his contributions to the country’s economy, pharma sector, and socially responsible initiatives. The award was presented by President Nataša Pirc Musar at the Slovenian Business Summit in Brdo pri Kranju on 20 October.

Colarič highlighted that Krka’s success stems from its integrated business model and dedicated workforce.

Around 800 experts are currently developing over 170 new products, while the company invests roughly 10% of annual revenue—about €200 million—into research and development. This year, Krka expects to exceed €2 billion in turnover and post €365 million in net profit.

Under Colarič’s two-decade leadership, Krka has also become a prominent force in cultural, sports, and healthcare initiatives, reinforcing its commitment to corporate social responsibility. “Success comes with responsibility—to employees, the community, and the environment,” Colarič said, noting the company’s extensive contributions to Slovenian infrastructure and social projects.
