Beno Ceglar Elected New President of AmCham Slovenia

Beno Ceglar takes helm at AmCham Slovenia, pledging bold leadership and stronger transatlantic ties

AmCham Slovenia has chosen new leadership at its 27th Annual General Assembly, electing Beno Ceglar, CEO of NIL Slovenia, as President for a two-year term. An internationally recognised manager, Ceglar steps into the role with a vision of fostering innovation, courage, and dialogue in a time of constant change.

In his address, Ceglar stressed that the business community must be bold enough to navigate the challenges ahead, adding: “Because I believe in Slovenia, and because all of us here believe in it, I look to the future with great optimism.” His rival candidate, Borut Čeh of Labena, shared similar views on cooperation and openness, underscoring AmCham’s role as a community built on ambition and dialogue.

The Assembly also elected new members of the Board of Governors, including Marta Bulhak (Pivovarna Laško Union), Nevenka Črešnar Pergar (NP Consulting), Mohamed Hammam (Pfizer), and Branko Žibret (Kearney), while Samo Kumar (Bankart) was re-elected. They join an experienced board representing leading companies such as Telemach, NLB Skladi, Visa, Roche, and the U.S. Embassy.

Notably, the Assembly welcomed Brian Greaney, the new Chargé d’Affaires at the U.S. Embassy, marking his first meeting with Slovenia’s business community. Greaney praised AmCham Slovenia’s work and reaffirmed the importance of strong U.S.-Slovenia economic ties as a driver of innovation, investment, and growth.
