Slovenian Dominance at European Honey Competition

The European Honey Competition, held in Slovenia, saw 114 competitors from 11 countries

Slovenian beekeepers claimed first place in four out of five categories, showcasing the nation’s prowess in honey production.

The top prize in the acacia honey category went to Croatia’s Josip Pintar, with Slovenian and Hungarian participants following close behind.

The competition culminated in the selection of the finest honey samples by a ten-member jury.

Agriculture Minister Mateja Ćalušić emphasized that while Slovenia may not compete in volume, its honey quality places the country among the world’s best.

This achievement underscores Slovenia’s high beekeeping standards and highlights its vital role in preserving ecological balance, further cementing its position as a global leader in honey production.
