Zagreb’s Festival of Light Returns

A spectacular fusion of art and technology will illuminate Zagreb’s streets this March, as the city celebrates the arrival of spring with 25 stunning light installations

Zagreb is set to enchant visitors once again with its beloved Festival of Light, returning from 19 to 23 March 2025.

This five-day event will feature 25 breathtaking installations spread across 22 iconic locations, including the historic Bana Jelačić Square and the elegant Zrinjevac Park.

As the city embraces the new season, the festival pays tribute to both the 100th anniversary of the Hotel Esplanade and the 1,100th anniversary of the Croatian Kingdom.

Among the highlights are “Wave,” an interactive AI-driven installation at the central square, and a mesmerizing projection on the façade of the Croatian National Theatre by German artist Daniel Margraf.

The festival also celebrates global environmental awareness, with the “Earth Hour” event on 22 March, where lights on Marulić Square will dim in support of nature preservation.

With free entry and a fusion of local and international art, the Festival of Light promises to be an unmissable event, showcasing the vibrant cultural pulse of Croatia’s capital.
