PPC Group and MYTILINEOS Forge €2 Billion Solar Alliance in Southeastern Europe

PPC Group and MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals have entered into a €2 billion strategic partnership to develop a vast solar power portfolio across four Southeastern European countries

PPC Group has inked a strategic Cooperation Framework Agreement with MYTILINEOS Energy & Metals to develop a solar power portfolio worth up to €2 billion across Italy, Bulgaria, Croatia, and Romania. This ambitious initiative is set to unfold over the next three years, marking a significant push towards energy transition in Europe.

The pact covers approximately 90 solar projects that are currently at various stages of development in the four countries, with capacities ranging from 445 MW in Croatia to 516 MW in Romania. MYTILINEOS will oversee the development and construction of these projects, with PPC Group set to acquire them once they are connected to the local electricity grids.

This collaboration highlights PPC Group’s strategic expansion in Southeastern Europe, enhancing its role in the region’s clean energy sector. The company aims to harness diverse meteorological conditions across different territories to optimize its renewable energy outputs.

This deal is not just a commercial agreement but a pivotal moment for European energy security and sustainability. Once operational, the solar projects are expected to power approximately 320,000 households and reduce carbon emissions by 3.4 million tonnes annually.

For PPC Group, this agreement extends its renewable energy footprint beyond Romania and into new territories, aligning with its vision to achieve 8.9 GW of installed RES capacity by 2026. Both companies’ growing international presence underlines their commitment to accelerating Europe’s green transition.
