Norwegian Renewable Energy Company Expands Presence in Croatia with New Zagreb Office

Norwegian renewable energy giant Statkraft has strengthened its presence in Croatia by opening a new office in Zagreb, as part of its growing portfolio of projects in the country

The opening ceremony, attended by energy experts and stakeholders from across the Croatian energy sector, marks a significant step in Statkraft’s expansion in the region.

Statkraft, a leader in hydroelectric power and Europe’s largest producer of renewable energy, has been operating in Croatia since 2021. The company sees great potential in Croatia’s renewable energy sector and is currently developing several solar and wind energy projects, as well as energy storage solutions.

With over 750 MW of solar capacity in development, Statkraft is poised to become a key player in Croatia’s energy transition

Arnaud Bellanger, Statkraft’s Director for Croatia, highlighted the company’s ambitious plans: “We are actively developing a robust portfolio of solar and wind projects, as well as energy storage systems. Our move into larger offices marks the next phase of our activities and aligns with our vision for growth and sustainability.”

Statkraft’s capabilities in Croatia were recently bolstered by the acquisition of Neoen’s operations in the country, further strengthening its project pipeline. Bellanger added that the portfolio is currently in various stages of permitting, promising continued development in the years to come.
