Montenegro’s Exports to CEFTA Region Double in Five Years

Montenegro’s exports to the CEFTA region have doubled over the past five years, showcasing the growing impact of regional trade cooperation

In 2023, Montenegro’s exports to the CEFTA region reached €326.7 million, marking a 103.2% increase compared to €160 million in 2018. During the same period, Montenegro’s total exports grew from €400 million in 2018 to €674.3 million in 2023, an impressive rise of 68.5%.

The Central European Free Trade Agreement (CEFTA) has significantly boosted regional trade cooperation, fostering economic ties among member countries. According to data shared with Pobjeda by CEFTA, total trade within the region reached €8.5 billion in 2023, reflecting a 62.4% increase compared to 2018.

This growth underscores the importance of CEFTA not only as a platform for trade liberalization but also as a vital mechanism for integrating the region into the European market. Montenegro has emerged as a leader in export growth, highlighting the expanding opportunities and potential that CEFTA offers to its member states.
