Montenegro-US Strategic Partnership Enhanced

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović and U.S. envoy Gabriel Escobar recently reinforced their countries' partnership, focusing on economic and security cooperation

Montenegrin President Jakov Milatović met with Gabriel Escobar, the U.S. Deputy Assistant Secretary of State and Special Envoy for the Western Balkans, in Podgorica, to reaffirm the strong ties between Montenegro and the United States. The meeting underscored the excellent state of bilateral relations and the U.S.’s robust support for Montenegro’s ongoing reforms.

Both parties expressed a keen interest in forging a strategic partnership, focusing on expanding economic dialogue and bolstering defense and security collaboration. President Milatović emphasized Montenegro’s commitment to strengthening its alliance with the U.S., underscoring the nation’s regard for the U.S. as a crucial international ally and friend.
