KONTEH Marks 20 Years Connecting Students and Tech Industry

The landmark student-led fair brings leading tech companies and future engineers together through lectures, competitions and career opportunities.

One of Serbia’s most prominent student technology events returns this March, celebrating two decades of linking academia with the tech industry.

The twentieth edition of KONTEH, a fair dedicated to business opportunities and professional internships, will take place this March at the Faculty of Technical Sciences in Novi Sad. Organised by EESTEC LC Novi Sad, the local chapter of the Electrical Engineering Students’ European Association, the event has grown over the past two decades into one of the most recognised student initiatives in Serbia’s technology sector.

This year’s programme is divided into two segments: Academic Days and Fair Days.

The Academic Days, scheduled for 18–19 March, will open the event with a series of keynote lectures and technical sessions led by experts from companies including Schneider Electric, Microsoft, JetBrains, Rivian and RT-RK. The programme will also feature two thematic tracks covering topics such as video game development, embedded systems, artificial intelligence and industrial technologies related to energy, construction and transport.

Two panel discussions will address major themes shaping the technology sector today, including the evolution of AI systems and the engineering behind smart cities and electric vehicles. The academic programme will also include an algorithm competition, where students will tackle interview-style coding challenges, and a Speed Dating zone, offering short meetings with company representatives to discuss career opportunities, technologies and workplace culture.

The Fair Days, set for 25–26 March, will provide direct interaction between students and more than 25 technology companies from across the region. Participating firms include Nordeus, Devoteam, Elsys, ProductDock and EPAM, among others.

During the fair, students will be able to visit company stands, speak with engineers and HR teams, and learn about internship and job openings. The programme will also include simulated job interviews, allowing participants to practise recruitment scenarios and receive feedback from industry professionals.

Participation in both the Academic and Fair segments of KONTEH is free of charge. Applications for the algorithm competition and interview simulations are available through the official website and the event’s Instagram page.

After twenty years, KONTEH continues to serve as a bridge between Serbia’s engineering talent and the technology companies shaping the region’s digital future.
