Končar’s €20 Million Investment Marks Milestone

A new high-tech laboratory in Bedekovčina not only boosts Končar’s position but accelerates the region’s push for green energy innovation

In a bold move set to redefine both the company and regional energy landscape, Končar has embarked on a €20 million investment in a state-of-the-art laboratory in Bedekovčina.

The facility, covering 2,700 square metres with a towering 28-metre structure, will specialise in testing high-voltage equipment, particularly focused on the green energy transition.

Designed to meet global standards, it aims to bolster innovation in the energy sector, especially around high-voltage direct current (HVDC) technologies.

Beyond its strategic benefits for Končar, the new lab is a significant boon for the local economy, promising high-tech jobs and positioning the region as a key hub for cutting-edge energy solutions.

With Končar’s impressive first-quarter results for 2025, including a 46% revenue surge, the company’s growth trajectory is set to continue, as it expands into international markets with a firm commitment to sustainable, reliable energy systems.
