Iconic “Politika” Building in Belgrade Acquired by Media Group M29

Belgrade’s Historic Media Landmark Changes Hands After Nearly Two Decades of Bank Ownership

The landmark “Politika” building in central Belgrade has been sold to M29, a company owned by businessman Boban Rajić, who also holds shares in “Politika Newspapers and Magazines” through his firm Media 026.

According to a statement published on the “Politika” portal, the iconic 17-story building, located at Trg Politika 1 and home to the daily newspaper’s headquarters for over half a century, was owned by NLB Bank Ljubljana since January 2006.

The bank acquired the building after the former state-owned Komercijalna Banka, now part of NLB, took ownership to settle a €37.1 million debt owed by “Politika.” The sale marks a significant shift for the historic property, cementing its future within the ownership of a key stakeholder in Serbia’s media landscape.
