From Dalmatia to New York: Split’s First Direct Link

United Airlines has announced the introduction of direct flights between Newark, New York, and Split, Croatia, commencing on April 30, 2026.

This marks the first-ever direct air connection between Split and the United States. The service will operate three times a week, utilizing a Boeing 767-300ER, which will be the first regular wide-body jet to operate from Split Airport. This new route is part of United’s expanded summer 2026 flight schedule, which includes new services to several European destinations.

Flights will depart Split at 10:00 AM, arriving in Newark at 2:00 PM local time. Return flights from Newark will depart at 5:00 PM, landing in Split the following morning just before 8:00 AM. The service is expected to operate until early September 2026. Ticket prices have yet to be announced. This new route offers travelers from Dalmatia and beyond a direct link to the United States for the first time. With this move, Split joins Dubrovnik and Zagreb in welcoming a growing number of transatlantic visitors, further strengthening Croatia’s position as a sought-after European destination for American travelers.
