Flatio Targets Digital Nomads with Trawerk Acquisition to Expand in Croatia

Flatio has acquired Trawerk, a Croatian mid-to-long-term rental platform, as part of its strategy to establish Croatia as a premier destination for digital nomads, remote workers, and students

The acquisition adds 860 hosts and 1,063 listings, bringing Flatio’s total to 1,453 properties in Croatia, and signals Flatio’s commitment to catering to the unique needs of year-round renters seeking flexible, affordable housing in vibrant locations.

By bringing on Trawerk’s co-founder, Ivan Petričević, as Regional Host Director for Croatia, Flatio gains valuable local expertise to grow its presence in a market that has traditionally relied on seasonal tourism. Flatio’s platform connects hosts with long-term renters, helping to stabilize income for Croatian hosts while providing digital nomads and other guests with a secure, deposit-free rental experience.

With Southern Europe’s popularity soaring among digital nomads drawn to its affordability and lifestyle, Croatia’s appeal as a flexible, culturally rich destination is growing. Through its expanded network, Flatio is positioning Croatia as a top choice for global nomads, supporting the country’s potential as a year-round, digitally connected hotspot.
