EU Sees Rise In New Business Registrations

Company bankruptcies also increase in Q3, Eurostat reports

The European Union recorded a 4% increase in new business registrations in the third quarter of this year compared to the previous quarter, according to Eurostat data. Growth was observed across all sectors, with the strongest increases in information and communications technology (6%), construction (5.9%) and transport (5.5%).

At the same time, the number of companies entering bankruptcy rose by 4.4%. The trend was uneven across sectors: five industries registered an increase in bankruptcies, while three recorded a decline.
