Emerald Azzurra Docks in Herceg Novi

Portonovi welcomes its first international mini cruiser, signalling Montenegro’s entry into the world of elite maritime tourism

The arrival of Emerald Azzurra at Portonovi marina has reportedly marked a historic moment for Herceg Novi, opening a new chapter in luxury and nautical tourism.

Local officials said it was the first time an international mini cruiser had docked in the town, following Portonovi’s certification as a port for international passenger traffic.

Guests were welcomed with a red carpet and traditional performances, before touring the resort.

Mayor Stevan Katić reportedly called the event a turning point, stating that the town’s luxury potential was finally being realised through its partnership with Portonovi.

Marina manager Novica Radojičić said the facility now meets all global safety standards and is authorised to host mini cruisers up to 140 metres.

Portonovi CEO Rašad Alijev described the docking as proof of the resort’s evolution into a premier destination for high-profile travellers, predicting a positive impact on the local economy and regional prestige.
