€416 Million to Transform Adriatic Coastal Tourism

Public–private investments reshape cruise and marina infrastructure across the region

According to the latest Adriatic Sea Tourism Report by Italy’s Risposte Turismo, more than €416 million in combined public and private investments is being channelled into marine tourism infrastructure along the Adriatic coast between 2023 and 2025.

The funds are being used to expand cruise terminals, upgrade ferry ports, and build new marinas in Croatia, Albania, Montenegro, Slovenia, and Italy. Projects include the €50 million Porto Baroš marina in Rijeka, a €45 million marina in Albania’s Vlora, and upgrades to cruise facilities in Ravenna, Bari, Koper, and Venice.

This cross-border investment push aims to boost regional connectivitydecongest overburdened ports, and support a more sustainable and diversified tourism strategy—positioning the Adria region as a rising hub for nautical travel.
