Croatia has stepped up oversight of olive oil quality following inspection results that revealed irregularities in labeling and product standards on the market.
Authorities conducted testing to verify whether products met declared categories, with some oils found not to match the quality stated on their labels.
The findings have raised concerns about consumer protection and transparency in the sector.
Officials say stricter controls and continued inspections will be implemented to ensure compliance, protect consumers and maintain the reputation of Croatian olive oil, an important part of the country’s agricultural and export industry.
