Croatia Gets First Wet Pet Food Factory With New MHP Investment

The facility in Zlatar Bistrica is expected to strengthen Croatia’s food production sector and expand the region’s growing pet food industry.

A new wet pet food factory has officially opened in Zlatar Bistrica, marking the first facility of its kind in Croatia. The investment was developed by MHP as part of broader plans to expand production capacities and strengthen its presence in the regional food industry.

According to the company, the factory will focus on the production of wet pet food products for both domestic and export markets.

The project is also expected to contribute to local economic development through new jobs, increased industrial activity and additional opportunities for suppliers connected to the food processing sector.

The opening reflects growing demand within the European pet food market, which has seen steady expansion in recent years as consumer spending on pet care products continues to rise. Croatian officials and company representatives described the investment as an important step for industrial modernization and the diversification of the country’s manufacturing sector.
