Bar Municipality Boosts Agriculture with Grants

A substantial investment from the local government aims to energize farming across six key sectors, from olive cultivation to livestock farming

In a major move to strengthen its agricultural sector, the municipality of Bar has allocated €150,000 in support of local farmers for 2025.

The funding, split across six key areas, promises to revitalize olive groves, enhance vineyards, boost beekeeping, and support livestock farming, among other projects.

Aimed at both experienced producers and newcomers, the program covers investments in modernizing infrastructure, acquiring machinery, and setting up irrigation systems.

The initiative, now in its sixth year, reflects the municipality’s ongoing commitment to maximizing its agricultural potential.

Local authorities hope this support will encourage innovation, streamline production processes, and open up new markets for local produce.

Farmers have until 15 September to apply for the grants, which cover up to 50% of the eligible costs for investments.

With an emphasis on sustainability and modernization, this initiative is set to become a cornerstone of Bar’s economic development strategy.
