Adria Region Passports Ranked Among World’s Most Powerful

Croatia and Slovenia lead Adria region in passport rankings

Passports from the Adria Region have been ranked on the 2024 list of the world’s most powerful passports, which is topped by the United Arab Emirates (UAE) for the fourth consecutive year.

Among the region’s countries, Croatia holds the highest position at 22nd, followed by Slovenia at 23rd. Serbia ranks 30th, while North Macedonia (65th), Montenegro (66th), Bosnia and Herzegovina (73rd), and Albania (74th) follow.

The global ranking is based on the number of countries citizens can visit visa-free. UAE citizens lead with access to 133 visa-free destinations and an additional 47 countries with visas on arrival, covering over 90% of the world. Meanwhile, passports from the Adria Region offer varying levels of global mobility, reflecting the region’s growing integration into international travel networks.
