Sarajevo Energy & Climate Week 2026, the region’s largest platform dedicated to energy, climate policy and the sustainable transition, opened in Sarajevo today and will run from 21 to 25 September 2026.
Over five days, the event brings together representatives of institutions, international and financial organisations, businesses and the expert community from Bosnia and Herzegovina, the region and Europe, with the aim of accelerating the energy transformation.
This year’s edition is organised by the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, with the support of the Delegation of the European Union to Bosnia and Herzegovina and the governments of Germany, the United Kingdom, the Czech Republic, Norway and Sweden. The conference brings together numerous European and international institutions, financial organisations, energy companies and experts from a range of fields.
The first day is dedicated to the key themes of the sustainable transition – decarbonisation, renewable energy sources, energy efficiency and climate resilience. In the days that follow, the programme will cover energy markets and financing, digitalisation and innovation, electromobility, green hydrogen, energy justice, critical minerals, the just transition of mining regions, as well as the security and resilience of energy systems.
Part of the programme will be held on 24 September at Energoinvest as part of Emerik Blum Day, while the final day will focus on investment and financing for the energy transition, improving energy efficiency and modernising energy systems.
“The key motivation of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina in launching SECW was to bridge the gap between decision-makers, businesses and experts, in order to accelerate the necessary energy transition and prevent the economic isolation of domestic companies. In the long term, SECW should position the economy of Bosnia and Herzegovina as a competitive and decarbonised partner in the European market, transforming climate obligations from an imposed burden into a development opportunity through attracting green investment and introducing new technologies.
At its core, SECW is a ‘telescopic view’ into the future of energy and related industries. It does not analyse only what is happening in Bosnia and Herzegovina and the region today, but also maps and precisely zooms in on the trends, technologies and regulatory requirements that await us in five, ten or twenty years. Through this ‘telescope’, businesses and institutions can clearly see the contours of the new economic reality,” said Mirsad Jašarspahić, President of the Chamber of Economy of the Federation of Bosnia and Herzegovina, on the occasion of the opening of SECW 2026.
