Transmission system operators from the Western Balkans have signed a historic declaration to enhance regional coordination and align their electricity markets with the European Union

Transmission system operators (TSOs) from the Western Balkans have signed a Joint Declaration on Regional Coordination, aiming to accelerate the integration of their electricity markets with those of the European Union.

The declaration was endorsed by TSOs from Energy Community contracting parties, including Elektromreža Srbije (EMS), Crnogorski Elektroprenosni Sistem (CGES), MEPSO, Nezavisni Operator Sistema u Bosni i Hercegovini (NOSBiH), and Operatori i Sistemit të Transmetimit (OST). The initiative, supported by interconnected EU TSOs in South-East Europe, also involved discussions with KOSTT, the TSO of Kosovo*, which has been invited to join. Facilitated by ENTSO-E, the declaration establishes a comprehensive cooperation framework for TSOs in the Western Balkans and South-East Europe, the organization said.
