Serbia’s Digital Surge: ICT Exports Jump 14% in Five Months

With a €1.4bn surplus, Serbia cements its status as a regional tech powerhouse.

Serbia’s ICT (information and communication technologies) exports reached €1.8 billion in the first five months of 2025, which officials said marked a 14% increase compared to the same period last year.

According to a statement from the Office for IT and eGovernment, this growth reflected the country’s continued momentum in the digital sector.

The office also reported a trade surplus of €1.4 billion in the ICT field, describing it as a sign of Serbia’s strengthening position as a net exporter of digital services.

Mihailo Jovanović, Director of the Office for IT and eGovernment, was quoted as saying that the latest figures clearly showed Serbia was continuing to establish itself as one of the regional leaders in the development of ICT.

He suggested that these results underscored the strategic importance of the sector for Serbia’s economic future.

Observers noted that with consistent export growth and increasing international demand, Serbia appeared to be emerging as a significant digital player in the Balkans.
