MOL Files Complaint Against Janaf With European Commission

Hungarian energy group alleges abuse of dominant market position

Hungarian oil and gas company MOL Group has filed a complaint with the European Commission against Croatian pipeline operator JANAF, alleging abuse of a dominant market position.

According to reports, the complaint concerns conditions related to the use of the Adriatic oil pipeline system, with MOL claiming that Janaf’s pricing and contractual practices may be restricting fair access to the infrastructure.

The issue is expected to be examined under EU competition rules.

The dispute highlights ongoing tensions surrounding energy transport routes in the region, particularly at a time when European countries are seeking to diversify oil supply and strengthen energy security.
