Indian Company Joins Croatia’s Largest Railway Project

The investment marks another major infrastructure step for Croatia’s transport modernization plans.

AFCONS Infrastructure Limited has joined what is being described as the largest railway project in Croatia, reflecting the country’s continued push to modernize transport infrastructure and strengthen regional connectivity. The project is part of broader efforts to upgrade rail networks and improve links with European transport corridors.

The railway development is expected to significantly improve freight and passenger transport efficiency, reduce travel times, and support economic growth.

Croatian authorities see the investment as strategically important for positioning the country as a stronger logistics and transit hub between Central Europe and the Adriatic region.

The involvement of the Indian firm also highlights growing international interest in Croatia’s infrastructure sector, with major foreign companies increasingly participating in large-scale transport, energy and development projects across the country.
