IKEA Serbia Appoints New Market Manager

IKEA Serbia signals a bold new chapter as it reports double-digit product sales growth and unveils expansion plans under new leadership

IKEA Serbia has named Aleksandar Rajčević as its new Market Manager, announcing the appointment after his 17-year tenure in various roles within the company.

The Swedish retail giant stated that Rajčević would oversee operations across the Belgrade store, delivery centres in Novi Sad and Niš, and Planning Studios in New Belgrade and Novi Sad.

The company reported an 8.7% increase in overall sales for fiscal 2024, with the number of products sold rising by 17.7% compared to the previous year.

Executives said that IKEA Serbia had invested over €7.6 million into permanently lowering prices for nearly half of its range, a move they believe has played a key role in boosting performance and consumer trust.

Management confirmed that the Planning Studio in New Belgrade has been expanded, now offering up to 100 home furnishing items available for immediate purchase.

They added that a new delivery and returns centre had opened on the same site, aiming to improve flexibility for online shoppers.

It was also revealed that, subject to permits, a new Planning Studio is slated for Čačak by the end of 2025, alongside plans to expand warehouse and office space in Belgrade.

Rajčević expressed his enthusiasm for leading the Serbian market, saying he looked forward to building on the team’s achievements and continuing efforts to make home furnishing more accessible.

He replaces Strahinja Urošević, who has moved into the role of Commercial Director for Southeast Europe.
