Emirates Telecom Group Acquires Majority Stake in PPF’s Eastern European Operations

e& acquires majority stake of PPF Group in Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Slovakia

In a landmark $2.15 billion deal, Abu Dhabi’s Emirates Telecommunication Group Company, also known as Etisalat or “e&,” has acquired a majority stake in PPF Group’s telecommunications assets in Serbia, Bulgaria, Hungary, and Slovakia.

Ranked among the world’s top telecom companies, Etisalat’s reach spans East Asia, the Middle East, and Africa, making it the sixth-largest operator in the Middle East and the 18th largest globally by subscriber count and revenue

This transaction, finalizing over 50% of the shares, brings Yettel, the prominent telecom operator, into e&’s fold, forming the newly branded entity Etisalat Telecom.

With this acquisition, Etisalat aims to solidify its presence as a leading telecommunications provider across Central and Eastern Europe.
