Cruise Giant Sun Princess Docks in Bar

A floating city of nearly 6,000 arrives in Bar, bringing scale, spectacle, and a taste of global cruising to Montenegro's southern shores

The megaship Sun Princess glided into the Port of Bar, marking one of the most anticipated arrivals of Montenegro’s 2025 cruise season.

Operated by the American cruise giant Princess Cruises and sailing under the flag of Bermuda, the 345-metre-long, 42.5-metre-wide vessel is a marvel of maritime engineering, boasting 21 decks and a guest capacity that rivals a small town.

On board are some 4,400 passengers and 1,600 crew members, enjoying world-class entertainment and amenities as part of the ship’s itinerary through the Adriatic.

The Sun Princess, which embarked on its maiden voyage in March last year, is scheduled to depart Bar at 6pm this evening.

With cruise season in Bar running through mid-October, the town expects to welcome around 90,000 tourists via luxury liners.

For a port once better known for freight than finery, today’s arrival is a signal that Bar is staking its claim on the map of high-end Mediterranean cruising.
