Slovenian Big Bang Takes Over BC Group, Accessing the Serbian Market

The company Big Bang, based in Slovenia, completed the takeover of the Serbian company BC Group by obtaining the necessary approval from the regulatory bodies and became the owner of 100 percent of the shares of one of the most recognizable Serbian online retailers.

As early as next year, we are starting to expand the network of pickup points, because we are aware that we must be as accessible as possible to our customers. According to the latest trends and forecasts, in four years in Serbia, as many as 4.4 million individuals will shop online. That is why we have already started additional employment , and by 2027 we will have twice as many employees as we had last year,” said the former majority owner of BC Group, Oleg Kulidzan, who remains the director of the company even after the transaction.

According to the first estimates, the entire Big Bang Group, excluding the BC Group, will generate around 300 million euros in revenue this year. Big Bang’s ambitions are to become the first digital retail and online market in the region, which will provide customers with the best user experience at every step.

The companies in the Big Bang Group are expected to generate between 370 and 380 million euros in revenue in 2024 and have around 700 employees.

“The completion of the acquisition of BC Group and the entry into the Serbian market represent a new, important milestone in the development and regional expansion of Big Bang Group, which today offers customers much more than just technological products. Our goals for the next period are certainly very ambitious, but I am sure that achievable. By 2027, we want to win a 25% market share in online sales in Serbia. By increasing the range, expanding the sales range to sports, fitness equipment, tools, toys, furniture and home accessories, expanding the network of pickup points, increasing storage capacities and providing best possible user experience, we want our revenues in Serbia to increase to close to 55 million euros in the next year, and by 2027 we plan to achieve around 90 million euros in revenue,” said Uroš Mesojedec, chief executive officer of Big Bang.
