Maxi Launches Holiday Initiative “Food for All”

Retailer calls on citizens to support food banks through donations and volunteering

Maxi has kicked off its annual holiday initiative “Food for All”, inviting citizens across Serbia to support local food banks by volunteering on the ground or contributing humanitarian donations. The campaign, organised together with the Belgrade and Vojvodina Food Banks, aims to strengthen community solidarity during the holiday season and ensure that surplus food reaches families facing hardship.

The two food banks currently assist tens of thousands of households across Serbia through daily distribution of donated food. Thanks to long-term partners like Maxi, which donates 6.5 tonnes of food every day,  these organisations are able to expand their capacities and deliver support to an increasing number of beneficiaries.

Volunteers can apply directly via the email contacts of the Belgrade and Vojvodina Food Banks, while donations can also be made in humanitarian boxes available in Maxi and Mega Maxi stores.

Since the launch of the “Food for All” programme in 2013, more than 11 million kilograms of food have been donated. This year alone, Maxi secured over 2.3 million products and 1.3 million kilograms of fresh fruits and vegetables. The company notes that the strength of the initiative lies in uniting businesses, organisations and citizens into a year-round network of solidarity that consistently supports those most in need.
