In a decisive vote at the 80th electoral session of the Members’ Council, Mihael Furjan, the Chief Executive of Pliva Croatia, has been re-elected as the president of the Croatian Employers’ Association (HUP), reinforcing his leadership for another three-year term.
Expressing gratitude for the renewed mandate, Furjan committed to continuing the association’s vigorous efforts in advocating for policies that ease business operations and bolster the competitiveness of Croatian enterprises. He emphasized HUP’s pivotal role as the sole representative body for employers in Croatia, advocating for enhanced social dialogue and active participation in the nation’s economic discourse.
Furjan outlined the association’s enduring and forthcoming priorities, which include tax and non-tax reliefs for entrepreneurs, advancements in labour relations, securing essential talent for the Croatian economy, curbing inflation, effective utilization of EU funds, addressing demographic challenges, and improving the educational and legal frameworks. These goals align with the specific objectives of various industry associations within HUP.
Adapting to the evolving needs of its sectoral associations and members remains a top agenda for HUP, with Furjan aspiring to render the association even more responsive and influential to benefit all member entities.
The assembly also saw the appointment of a new member to the HUP’s Executive Board, Sergio Galošić, the CEO of Klimaopreme. Galošić expressed his enthusiasm for the role, highlighting the significance of the board’s agenda for the Croatian economy and his eagerness to contribute to the board’s commendable efforts in shaping the business landscape.
