Ana Brčina Joins Generali Board

From psychology to the boardroom — a new chapter begins for a woman reshaping human capital in insurance

Ana Brčina, a seasoned expert in human resources and organisational transformation, has been appointed to the Management Board of Generali osiguranje, one of Croatia’s leading insurance firms.

The appointment, recently greenlit by the Croatian Financial Services Supervisory Agency (Hanfa), marks a three-year mandate and a milestone in Brčina’s dynamic career.

A psychology graduate from the University of Zagreb, Brčina first ventured into pharmaceutical market research before pivoting to the insurance sector in 2010.

She gained key experience at Basler and Uniqa osiguranje, and for the past five years has spearheaded human resources at Generali.

Renowned for her work on digital transformation and employee education initiatives, she now steps into a role where strategic vision meets people-first leadership.

Her ascent comes as Croatia’s insurance market reports a strong 9.9% annual growth, with total premiums reaching €1.92 billion in 2024 — a solid backdrop for fresh leadership and innovation at the helm.
