Adriatic Metals BiH Marks a Milestone with First Ore Concentrate Production in Vareš Project

Adriatic Metals BiH has heralded a new chapter in Bosnia and Herzegovina's mining sector by producing the first ore concentrate from the Vareš Project, a significant leap forward in one of the country's largest post-war investments

Adriatic Metals BiH has achieved a significant milestone in the mining industry of Bosnia and Herzegovina with the production of the first ore concentrate within the Vareš Project, heralding a new era of mining operations in the region. The Vareš processing plant is set to ramp up its capacity gradually over the coming months, targeting a nominal processing capacity of approximately 65,000 tonnes per month by the fourth quarter of 2024.

Paul Cronin, the CEO of Adriatic Metals BiH, shared his enthusiasm about this pivotal achievement: “I am thrilled to announce another key milestone reached with the production of the first concentrate at the Vareš Project. The Vareš processing facility, designed and constructed with cutting-edge technology from leading manufacturers in the industry, adheres to the highest standards of health and safety. I am immensely proud of my team’s accomplishment and extend my gratitude for their hard work and dedication.”

This development represents a significant success not just for Adriatic Metals BiH but also for the local community in Vareš and the entire nation of Bosnia and Herzegovina. The Vareš Project stands as one of the largest post-war investments in the country, promising substantial economic and social benefits.

Throughout the project, Adriatic Metals BiH has committed to employing local staff, engaging with local suppliers, collaborating with authorities at all levels, and applying state-of-the-art mining technology. This strategy not only fosters economic development but ensures lasting benefits for the community of Vareš well beyond the mine’s operational lifespan.

In the months ahead, the company will continue to optimize the processing facility and expand underground operations with the goal of reaching the projected production capacity by the fourth quarter of 2024. This progress underscores the potential for sustainable mining practices and economic revitalization in Bosnia and Herzegovina, setting a precedent for future investments in the region’s rich natural resources.
