Banca Intesa Leads Serbia’s Digital Banking Revolution

Serbia’s Banca Intesa pioneers fully paperless banking and remote offers using cloud-based e-signatures, marking a major leap in digital finance

In a bold stride towards digital transformation, Banca Intesa has become the first bank in Serbia to introduce a fully paperless in-branch experience and remote offer capability powered by qualified electronic signatures in the cloud.

Backed by the Office for IT and eGovernment, the bank now allows clients to review and sign documents on tablets using the ConsentID mobile app—eliminating paper entirely and slashing document processing time by up to 75%.

Customers can also complete the entire process remotely via the Intesa Mobi app, including digital receipt, review, and signing of contracts.

Over 16,000 users have already activated their ConsentID credentials digitally since 2023.

CEO Darko Popović said that the initiative marked a milestone in Banca Intesa’s digital journey and reaffirmed the bank’s strong commitment to sustainable, user-centric banking.

Government digital chief Mihailo Jovanović hailed the move as a model for public-private cooperation.

The system is now live in 48 branches and set to expand nationwide, reshaping banking in Serbia one digital signature at a time.
