30th Sarajevo Film Festival

This year’s festival features four competition sections – for feature, documentary, short, and student films – presenting a total of 57 premieres. These include 19 world, 9 international, 3 European, 21 regional, and 3 national premieres. 

The festival received a record 940 submissions this year, including 190 feature fiction films, 280 documentaries, and 470 short and student titles.

Creative Director Izeta Građević, who leads the programming team, highlighted the festival’s commitment to new authors, original stories, and creative risk. “Our selections this year once again represent the vast world of cinema on a small scale, embracing diverse film practices and traditions from Southeast Europe,” she said.

The Sarajevo Film Festival continues to be a significant platform for amplifying voices from the region and bringing them to a global audience. The festival will run from 16 to 23 August 2024.
