12th Festival of European and Mediterranean Film in Trebinje

This Sunday, 28th August, the 12th Festival of European and Mediterranean Film will commence in Trebinje. This year’s recipients of the prestigious “Golden Plane” award are esteemed actors Nives Ivanković and Ljubomir Bandović

The awards ceremony, under the Trebinje Film Festival’s theme “Sun-Kissed by Film,” will take place during the grand opening of the renowned “Trebinje Film Festival” at the plateau in front of the Museum of Herzegovina. 

Throughout the festival, approximately 30 short, feature, and documentary films from 15 countries will be screened at various locations, including the Summer Garden of the Youth Center, the courtyard of the Museum of Herzegovina, the Cultural Center Trebinje, and the terrace of Hotel “Leotar”

The festival’s supplementary program includes a variety of literary presentations, featuring thriller novels by Marko Popović, poetry by Nemanja Dragaš, and a discussion about “The Partisan Western of Žika Mitrović” with author Nedjeljko Kovačić. The book “Special Frame,” a collection of personal histories by film journalists and critics, will be introduced in a conversation with editor Jelica Stanojčić. Additionally, actor and director Dejan Aćimović will lead a film acting workshop.

Promotions will extend beyond Trebinje to Ljubinje on Tuesday and Wednesday (30-31 July), showcasing the films “Guardians of the Formula” and “The Russian Consul.”

The festival is organized by the Tangram Center from Belgrade with the support of the Audio-Visual Center of the Republic of Srpska, the Ministry of Culture of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Serbia, and the City of Trebinje.
